Who will be held responsible?

Somebody is to blame, who use and buy more oil than any other country in the world? According to AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science) which is the largest science organization in the world, global climate change is a big problem that is growing fast. But according to polls done by ABC News Time Stanford University Ohio state only 3 out of every 10 Americans say humans have nothing to do with it. 40percent say its not even human related. While we are still pointing fingers the problem is growing. Last year was a record warm for Americans. As a matter of fact last nine years the problem was nobody really cared. We Americans believe “seeing is believing” that’s the problem as much as scientists are trying to explain what’s going on. People are ignoring it. Many people think that even the scientists are confused which according to Jon Krosnick “professor of communication and political science from Stanford University.

Remember how Anarctica was a cool place to chill?

Records of wind humidity and temperature from 1971 and 2003 show that the winter season in the artic is warming up according to scientist atmosphere temps of Antarctica’s winter have risen by 27 degrees Fahrenheit (1.5 degrees Celsius). This is due to green house gases, for those of you who don’t know the green house effect is when the sun rays are trapped in the atmosphere because there is too much pollution in the air for them to leave. You are probably asking yourself what does this have to do with me. America is basically a big block of ice, meaning if it melts, which could be 100years from now, the ocean will rise because the loss of islands, even states. Ever wonder why the ocean was so cold? Just think about it.

Is global warming happening? Are you willing to bet the world on it?

Did you know that some people are actually betting on global warming? There was a meteorologist who said according to lifescience.com he would bet that twenty years from now the global average temp would cool back in twenty years. This started a whole internet explosion of bets on global warming, mai8nly scientists. For instance one site is betus.com this gives you a chance to place a bet. Reed Richards is the spokesman of the site. My point is why aren’t we taking this seriously? Do we really want our great great grand kids to suffer for what their ancestors thought was a joke? Some of the bets are, will scientists have proof by the end of this year, that polar bears will be extinct by 2012. Will Manhattan survive global flooding? Some more bets are the ocean will rise six inches by the end of the year; Florida will be under water by December 31, 2011. Humans will find a way to verse global warming so efficiently that global freezing will become a problem.

Just when you thought they were Gone

It was said that malaria in the U.S. has almost gone but since the anopheles mosquitoes South America to North America. They have been smack out breaks in the last decrease in Texas, Georgia, Florida, Michigan, New Jersey, and New York. Once again global warming is making it possible for these insects to travel and live in new places. Remember the “west Nile virus,” guess where it came from. Yes, Africa. The mosquitoes travel through the U.S. and Canada killing 304 people in North America. Ever heard of “Raft Valley fever?” Being that west Nile comes from mosquitoes traveling in pools of water after droughts, west weather lead to raft valley fever. This is spreading in Madagascar and Kenya due to rain storms and flooding. The mosquitoes gave it to animals and the animals give it to us. Also ticks play a big role in spreading disease like for instance Lyme disease. Being that its getting better these are more ticks outdoors. Through a Harvard study it was found that being that winters are hotter more ticks are appearing causing the spread of Lyme disease. Just remember the hotter and more rainfalls get the insect populations will be able to reproduce and travel more.

More Disease

There are many things happening because of global warming like ice caps melting, animals migrating, and change in weather. When I say animals I mean insects. Its no secret about the disease insects carry like for instance the mosquitoes because places on the earth are becoming warmer insects can travel and live in new areas. Ever heard of Dengue fever? The Aedes mosquitoes can only live in warm tropical weather. Due to global warming they have been found in the Netherlands even Texas and Italy. WHO (World Health Org) say this is the first time a disease only found in the tropics reach Europe. Also as high altitudes because warmer, mosquitoes are moving up. The Aedes mosquitoes have been found at 5,600 feet a Mexico and 7,260 in the Aedes. Dengue fever can also lead to cholera and Malaria.

Affect on Animals

“The endangered species” is something of great importance with little recognition. Animals that are wondrous, beautiful and vital to the richness our America, are slowly disappearing. The Bush Administration wants to take away their safety. This can not stand it will denigrate our country.
Having wonderful wildlife flaunts American extraordinarily. It allows fellow nations to see that we are more than just economics but real people. If the administration takes away the law of saving them then they will disappear forever and it will affect the minds of people of all ages. People will completely turn against their own country.

Climate

With help from us burning fossil fuels, the climate of the world is changing. It is more drastic in the American West. The west is becoming much hotter. This is going to change our nation dramatically in ways that we will not like. A changing climate results in a changing society and way of life.
The changing climate will become so hot that it will me unlivable for wildlife. Animals will have little water and die out. It has already ignited many wildfires that are burning our crops. This means that our resoiurces will die out. Also, we will not go out as much because of the heat which means people will not shop and our economy will go down. Ultimately, our economy and society will fall.

Water

Water…we need it to survive but there are so many different levels of it that we don’t always know which or what we are drinking. Tap, groundwater and bottled are the main. As to which is best to drink, can not be fully answered.
Tap water comes straight from the pipes. It contains many objects, minerals etc. These objects come from anything as the water is not filtered and traveling through pipes, however, it also contains strong minerals. Bottled water is filtered and people feel safe because of that. Unfortunately, when it is filtered the minerals that we need in our body and that make us stronger, are left back in the filter. Groundwater i.e. from mining does not travel through pipes and is not filtered through machine. It is kind of filtered since it is only traveling on natural resources and also contains strong minerals. In my opinion, it is the best of the 3 to drink. Not in our favor, and hard to get, but the best for us to drink.

Oil and Energy

Oil and energy, in a whole, have transit from wants (when first discovered and produced) to absolute needs in present life and society. Due to it being a need, rapid production is required; however, resources are slowly decreasing while our environment is steadily becoming polluted and disastrous.
The pollution released from oil and energy production contaminates our atmosphere, along with harmfully effecting people’s health and decreasing the amount of “greens” we produce. Ultimately, we are the driving force that will slow down our economy, life durance and standard of living. If this continues to occur, the human race will not even exist because as we burn more coal, fossil fuels and produce oil-energy, our ice-caps at the poles are melting. Hence, our land will be extremely flooded, our crops will not grow, resources will no longer exist and life will be harder than ever. We have to wake up and acknowledge that this problem exists and we must find some kind of solution.

The Affects of Where We Live

Global warming is more serious than people have thought. Increasing temperatures is causing the Earth’s climate to rise at an alarming rate. “In my view, climate change is the most severe problem that we are facing today—more serious even than the threat of terrorism.” was said on February 2004 to an international/science meeting by the Chief Scientific Advisor to the British Government David A. King. Along with other factors such as over population and the weather changes in the climate will have a bigger impact on the lives of people than war does. Since 1990 the eleven warmest years has been recorded. The planets retaliation has been warmer winds and the rising of sea levels. Due to global warming the lives of billion of people and the lives of animals are being dramatically altered. For instance people with homes near the coast are suffering from rising sea levels and more severe storms. On the other hand as you move inward toward land in places such as Europe people are dying from heat waves (35,000 people died in Europe due to a heat wave in 2003). Animals are beginning to move and adapt to other ecosystems as well as become extinct.

Global Warming

There is a huge issue in the world as a matter of fact the biggest problem in history why dont people care?Is it because the world might not end in our life time? How do you feel about Global Warming? Do you care?if so what are you doing to prevent it.
